A young Parsi Chef, Kaizad Kamdin, (From Poona) died in this shootout. He was working for the Taj A small community....one which loves good food.....now loses a young member to terrorism.
Farokh Dinshaw passed away
Farrokh Italia (51), a Karate teacher, lost his life at the Trident after a bullet pierced his intestine

Farrokh Italia (51) had lavish plans to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his coaching classes. But the terror attacks claimed his life, leaving his pupils shocked.

"He was a true fighter," said an emotional Aditya Dugar (28) who had been coached by Italia since he was 8 years old. "My sister who is is second in command at the classes is shattered. It's a life wasted," he added.

Italia's brother Bomi Italia (71) said, "He was my only brother and my junior in karate training. I can't believe this has happened." Italia is regarded as a father figure by his pupils.

The resident of Tardeo was at the Trident Hotel with a fellow karate instructor when terrorists stormed the hotel, firing randomly. A bullet shattered Italia's intestine and caused more than ten injuries to his stomach and pelvic region. Italia was taken to Bombay Hospital
on Wednesday, but succumbed to injuries yesterday.

Rohinton Maloo was found on the 22nd floor of the Trident tonight. He was last seen dining at the Kandahr at Oberoi, on the 3rd floor. He is survived by a wife and 2 young children. May Ahura Mazda give his family the strength during this testing time.
Noshir Sanjana, a security officer with the Taj Hotel walked into the place at 1 am, when everyone else was running out. He was shot in the knee. He lay there all night and managed to crawl out of the place in the morning. He will be operated on tomorrow at Parsi General.
He was operated upon yesterday, and the operation was successful. The poor guy's bones were crushed around the knee area as the bullet ripped through his leg, but it was a long operation and he's recuperating well. Will be another 8-10 weeks till he's back to his feet. This guy was at home when he saw the events unfolding on that fateful night. He immediately rushed to the Taj way past midnight, beyond the call of his duty. He did manage to help a few people to safety before getting gravely injured himself. He luckily made it....most of our other bretheren didn't Wishing him a speedy recovery.

2 other Parsis - a man Farrokh Madon and an unnamed woman at Leopold Cafe are also dead.

Dear Members,

We are very saddened by the recent attacks in Mumbai, which have resulted in the loss of innocent lives.

We would like to take this moment to offer a prayer for the victims of such attacks and for their families.

The Zoroastrian community around the World is a talented and gifted one. We can make a difference by promoting peace and tolerance. Let’s start from within!

Regardless of the various differences in views and opinions in the community, Zoroastrians must come together as one.

Our thoughts and prayers are with our brothers and sisters in Mumbai.

Ushta-TE
